What happens at the Post between the seasons

Dear Guests and Friends of the Post!

Even if the Post closes its doors for several weeks a year in spring and autumn, things are nonetheless going on behind the scenes.

As we all know, after the season is before the season, so that there are always some good helpers in spring and autumn who are in the house and deal with this and that.

The reception is, for instance, staffed every day by our ladies to deal with enquiries, reservations and provide other information by email or telephone.
The management and the administration are likewise present – safety measures, staff accommodation and arrivals, marketing campaigns and much more are prepared for the forthcoming winter season in Lech.

Craftsmen are other regular guests between the seasons at the Post. Revisions, repairs, minor “brush-ups” and other works are regularly carried out by our local partner companies during spring and autumn.

A very important role is played by our hardworking apprentices, whom we would like to introduce to you in today’s blog.

Linda

Linda has started her apprenticeship as hotel and restaurant assistant after she attended the vocational high school in Feldkirch in August 2018 and has been trained in the fields of service, kitchen, housekeeping, and reception. Linda is already in the fourth and last year of her apprenticeship which will soon come to an end. For the moment she prepares for her final examinations in November. We keep our fingers crossed! We are pleased that Linda will continue to support us for another season or two at the Post after her final examination, and then she wants to gather some work experience outside Austria.

Personal details: Linda has a lot of power and is an enthusiastic skier – she prefers off-piste skiing in waist-high deep snow.

Aleksa

Aleksa is also part of our team of apprentices and has reached already the second year of his cook apprenticeship. At present he attends the vocational school and is busy studying before he will then actively support us again from the winter season onwards. Aleksa is already responsible for many things; he is very ambitious, and supports our kitchen team headed by David Wagger in a zealous and creative manner.

Peter

Peter is the youngest in the team and started his cook apprenticeship with us in September. Originally, he joined the Post as an intern but then rapidly realised that he wanted to stay and has since then supported us with a lot of enthusiasm. For the moment he is in charge of preparing the meals for the Post staff, he prepares jams and other products for our hotel guests and our Feinpostladen, and gets ready for the winter season.

Personal details: Peter has music in his blood. He plays the Styrian accordion and fascinates our guests in summer not only with his cooking skills but also with his music pieces during the cheese spaetzle party at the Formarin.
